Terms of Service

These terms apply to all services provided by YichengCode ("I", "me") to you ("the client"). By approving a quote or paying an invoice, you agree to them.

1. Quotes and scope

Prices shown on this website are starting prices. Every engagement is based on a written quote sent by email that describes the scope, timeline and fixed price. Work outside the agreed scope is only done with your written approval, either as a new quote or at the hourly rate of $35.

2. Payment

• All payments are made by PayPal invoice, in US dollars unless agreed otherwise.
• Projects under $300 are paid in full before work starts, unless we agree otherwise for emergencies.
• Larger projects are paid 50% upfront and 50% on delivery, or in milestones listed in the quote.
• Monthly maintenance plans are billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month.

3. Access and your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing the access needed for the work (for example an SSH user or a cloud account role), and for keeping your own accounts with hosting and cloud providers in good standing. Server, domain and third-party service fees are paid by you directly to those providers.

4. Backups and risk

Before making significant changes I take backups where technically possible. However, you remain responsible for maintaining your own backups of critical data. I am not liable for data loss caused by pre-existing issues, third-party providers, or circumstances outside my control.

5. Warranty

For 7 days after delivery, I fix any defect in the delivered work that falls within the agreed scope at no extra cost. New requirements or changes made by others after delivery are not covered.

6. Confidentiality and ownership

Your code, data and credentials are treated as confidential and are never shared. Once paid in full, all code and configuration written specifically for you belongs to you. I will sign a reasonable NDA on request.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, my total liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project.

Refunds are handled according to the refund policy.
